Missouri Valley Hunt Club
an AKC Performance Club

The oldest Retriever Club west of the Mississippi

Founded in 1937, the Missouri Valley Hunt Club is located in western Douglas County, south of Valley, NE, on West Maple Road

(County Road 29).  Map

The club owns 40 acres of prime training land, with three small sandpit ponds.  The ponds are supported by a 6-inch well throughout the hot summer months, giving members water for training.

The phrase 'hunt club' is somewhat of a misnomer.  The club is organized for the benefit of retrievers and their owners.  It promotes the benefits of a well-trained hunting companion through competitive events.  It has been home to many successful trainers and high-powered dogs.  If you have ever wondered what a well-trained dog can do, just stop out during one of the club sponsored events.

On January 10, 2013, our sport lost a valued club member with the passing of Brad Lewis. He was always quick with a smile and a joke, gave advice when needed and was the cornerstone of Saturday morning training sessions. The Missouri Valley Hunt Club and Nebraska Dog and Hunt Club mourn the loss of Brad and our hearts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
